The Emerson Colonial Theatre has debuted such seminal Broadway shows as Anything Goes, Porgy and Bess, Oklahoma!, Carousel, Follies, A Little Night Music, La Cage aux Folles, and Grand Hotel, among others.

Box office opening hours

The box office is open on performance days. In person, during normal box office operating hours, we accept cash and the following major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Personal checks are not accepted. Advance ticket sales to upcoming shows are suspended for the thirty minutes prior to the curtain time of that day’s performance.

Unless otherwise noted, lobby doors will open one hour prior to the performance and the auditorium doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance. Please arrive 45 minutes prior to the start of the performance to allow time for bag inspection and security check.

Late seating policies vary show-to-show. When allowed, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management at an appropriate moment during the show. Guests will be notified ahead of time if late seating is not permitted for any performance.

Guests entering the building must have their ticket with them at all times. Re-entry to the performance is at the discretion of each show and may be subject to holding times and/or refusal. Please check with an usher before leaving the performance.

Emerson Colonial Theatre will contact you via the information you provided at the time of purchasing your ticket in the rare event that a performance is cancelled or postponed. Guests are required to comply with bag searching and security. Bags larger than standard backpack size of 22” x 14” x 9” must be checked. Outside food and beverage, including leftovers and restaurant to-go bags, is not permitted. If food is required due to a medical condition, please see a staff member for accommodations. Empty, reusable water bottles are permitted and there are two water fountains located inside the theatre.

All audience members regardless of age must have a ticket; no lap seating is permitted. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. For younger guests, there is a Family restroom located on the Orchestra level that is equipped with a changing table. Please note that individual events may have suggested age guidelines. When applicable, these notations will appear on the shows’ event pages.

Security

The Emerson Colonial Theatre is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable entertainment experience. By entering this theatre, you agree to the following guest code of conduct.

Guests will adhere to all photo, video and recording policies at all times. Guests will comply with bag searching and security. Bags larger than standard backpack size of 22” x 14” x 9” must be checked at coat check. Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and must show their tickets when requested. Every guest must have a ticket. Guests will not be permitted to smoke, which includes e-cigarettes, on premises at any time. Guests will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner. Guests will comply with requests from venue staff regarding facility operations and emergency response procedures. All guests under the age of 15 must have a guardian present. Latecomers will comply with being seated at the discretion of the management. Guests shall not interfere with performers or events in any way.

Prohibited Items

All guests entering the Emerson Colonial Theatre will be screened prior to entry. The items listed below are not permitted. Items that are confiscated may not be returned. If you are unsure about an item, please do not bring it with you.

Outside food & beverage, including leftovers and restaurant to-go bags. If food is required due to a medical condition, please see a staff member for accommodations. Large professional camera and/or video recording equipment. Flashlights and laser pointers. Illegal substances. Noise making devices and fireworks. All weapons, including firearms, ammunition, knives, swords, scissors, OC spray (mace), and any dangerous items are strictly prohibited.

The Emerson Colonial Theatre has the right to refuse entry if any of the above-mentioned conditions are not met.
