The Charline McCombs Empire Theatre
The Charline McCombs Empire Theatre is a historic live entertainment venue in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Opened in 1914 and designed in the style of a European palazzo by architects Mauran, Russell & Crow of St. Louis, the theatre originally operated as a vaudeville house before becoming a motion picture theatre. The venue was restored and reopened in 1998 through efforts led by the Las Casas Foundation (now the Majestic Empire Foundation). Today, the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre hosts concerts, comedy shows, touring performances, and special events, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
